Batchelor of Physics (BSc Physics)
Welcome to the Department of Physics at the Government College Malappuram, affiliated to the University of Calicut! Our department offers both MSC and BSc Physics courses with a limited sanctioned number of 10 seats and 32 seats respectively, ensuring personalized attention and a high- quality learning experience for our students. We are proud to have a team of six experienced and dedicated faculties who are committed to imparting knowledge and nurturing talent in the field of Physics. Our department is equipped with advanced laboratory facilities that provide practical exposure to our students, facilitating their understanding of fundamental concepts and theories. We also offer MSc projects for students in our college as well as outside the college, providing opportunities to develop their research skills and enhance their knowledge beyond the classroom.
The department has also established a strong research focus in the field of theoretical physics, with a particular emphasis on quantum optics and quantum information. Our faculty members specialize in various fields such as Materials Science, Quantum Optics, Quantum Information, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Nuclear Physics, providing our students with a diverse range of research areas to choose from. Additionally, our department has a faculty with guideship for Ph.D. in quantum optics, offering a path way for students to pursue higher studies and research in this exciting field.

Admission
The eligibility for B.Sc. Physics course is that the candidates must have passed Plus Two in Science stream. Admission procedure commences based on the notification published by University of Calicut via University admission portal. The sanctioned strength in B.Sc. is 32.
