B.A. Islamic History
The Department of Islamic History, launched in 1976, has been at the frontline of academic and professional achievements in the nation and has been steadily revising its curriculum to make it more sensitive to the social concerns in India.At first, Arabic served as the second main stream in a double main stream on the subject. A single main stream was established for the department starting in 1978, with Economics and Politics functioning as subsidiary.
The Islamic History program offered at Government College Malappuram is a comprehensive academic course that delves deep into the rich history and culture of the Islamic world. The duration of the B.A programme of study is three academic years with six semesters.

To be eligible for admission to the Islamic History program at Government College Malappuram, students must have completed their 10+2 education from a recognized board with at least 50% marks. The admission process usually begins in the month of June, and interested candidates can apply online or offline through the official college website. In addition to the core courses that cover various aspects of Islamic history, culture, and literature, students are also required to take complementary courses that provide them with a well-rounded education. These complementary courses include subjects like Arabic language, literature, and culture, as well as courses in English language and literature. There shall be one Audit course each in the first four semesters. Open courses: There shall be one open course in core subjects in the fifth semester. The open course shall be open to all the students in the institution except the students in the parent department. The students can opt that course from any other department in the institution. The sixth semester includes a Study Tour and Project Work component, which provides students with an opportunity to engage in experiential learning and apply theoretical concepts to real-world situations. The program has a limited number of seats, and admission is granted on a merit basis. Admission Process
Admission to the BA Programme in Economics will start in the month of July every year. In order to apply for the programme the candidate has to register in the Calicut University Centralised Admission Process.
Eligibility
Any candidate who passed plus two of the higher secondary board of Kerala or equal examination of any other University or board of examination in any state recognised as equivalent to plus two of the higher secondary board in Kerala. However, the candidates who have studied Economics for the qualifying examination shall be given some weightage while calculating the index marks for admission.
