B.A. Malayalam
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Malayalam is an undergraduate program offered by Government College Malappuram. This program started in 1981. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Malayalam language and literature. The duration of the BA Malayalam program is three years, and it is divided into six semesters. The program is structured to include core courses, complimentary courses and elective courses, which provide students with a broad understanding of the Malayalam language and literature. Complimentary Courses in the programme are : 1. കേരളപഠനം (Kerala studies), 2. സംസ്കൃതം (Sanskrit). The Elective Courses are: 1. മാധ്യമ പഠനം (Media studies), 2. സ്ത്രീ പഠനങ്ങൾ (Women’s studies)

Admission Process
Admission to the BA Programme in Malayalam will start in the month of July every year. In order to apply for the programme the candidate has to register in the Calicut University Centralised Admission Process.
Eligibility
Any candidate who passed plus two of the higher secondary board of Kerala or equal examination of any other University or board of examination in any state recognised as equivalent to plus two of the higher secondary board in Kerala. However, the candidates who have studied Malayalam during the qualifying examination shall be given some weightage while calculating the index marks for admission.
