M.A. History

    The Department of History was upgraded as Post-Graduate Department in the year 2018. Students who have completed UG course can apply for MA in History through Centralized Admission Process of University of Calciut. MA in History is a two-year programme with four semesters. The programme has a sanctioned strength of 44 seats with intake of 22 students each academic year. It is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of history and its significance in shaping the present. The programme covers a wide range of topics including ancient, medieval, and modern history. Also Environmental History is the elective course for the programme. Under the programme the students are exposed to various theories, concepts, and methodologies of historical research and are encouraged to engage in critical thinking, analysis, and research. Upon the completion of the programme, the students can pursue a variety of career options, including teaching, research, journalism, civil services, museu curation, archival management, and more.
