In 2018, within six years of the inception of its master’s programme, the department was elevated to the status of a research centre offering Ph.D.It pursues a general policy of prioritizing interdisciplinary domains related to language, literature, culture, ethnicity, gender, hybridity, subaltern, etc., for research projects. Currently, the department shelters six research supervisors (three of whom are external), 13 active scholars, and 9 scholars awaiting registration.
